The IEEE Malaysia Section Student Activities Committee has been working closely with Selangor Human Resources Development Centre (SHRDC) to put together certified student members. The purpose of this certification program is to enhance the technical competency of our student members to enable them to champion digital transformations within their domain of influence. This skill/certification will differentiate them significantly from other applicants in the fresh graduate market.

The details of the program are as follows:

  • Date: 23rd November to 23rd December (MOOC Approach)
  • Training Platform: SHRDC’s OpenLearning Platform
  • Mode of Delivery: Hybrid Training (Online + Remote Access)
  • Online Programs:
    • Data Acquisition, Logging, Visualization, and Formulation for Smart Factory
    • Certification: Certificate of Completion by the Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 @ SHRDC

As a pilot program, IEEE Malaysia section will be sponsoring 20 of our student members into these four (4) week program. IEEE Malaysia Section will be covering the cost of virtual facilitation, and virtual assessment, while our industry partners, SHRDC will be covering the costs related to the Virtual Training Platform for students to integrate their code into existing hardware available at the Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0.

The modules can be taken at a self-selected pace, according to the participants’ availability. However, the final assessment will have to be done during office hours. Additionally, all assessments must be completed within the given duration (23rd November 2020 – 23rd December 2020), failure to do so will result in a non-completion of the program.

Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded a certificate of completion by the Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 @ SHRDC to recognise the knowledge and which would be assessed virtually in this program. This certification can then be used by students to apply for future internship positions at the Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0 @ SHR and their career prospects for companies who wish to embark on their journey towards sustainable digital transformation.

The course material and training will be conducted fully online. So all student/graduate members within IEEE Malaysia Section are encouraged to apply. All those interested can register in the following form. The selection criteria are also made known in the form available here: https://forms.gle/HeJ96PRjtrjDNjT57.
