Associate Professor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Petronas

Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin (M’02, SM’14) is an Associate Professor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Petronas. Fawnizu graduated from University of Minnesota, USA (B. Electrical Engineering, 1999), University of New South Wales, Australia (MEngSc, 2001) and Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan (D.Eng, 2008). He is an active volunteer with the IEEE Malaysia Section since 2009. He was the 2013 & 2014 Chair of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Malaysia Chapter, Chair of IEEE Malaysia Section (2019 & 2020) and currently Membership Development Coordinator for IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific) (2021-2022). For his volunteer work with IEEE, he was awarded the 2018 Region 10 (Asia Pacific) Outstanding Volunteer Award. At UTP, he was the Program Manager of Master by coursework program (2009-2013), the Deputy Head of Electrical & Electronic Engineering department (2013-2014) and the Director of Strategic Alliance Office (2014-2018). He was a Visiting Professor at Intel Microelectronics (Malaysia)’s SOC DFx department in 2012-2013 and at Malaysia Japan International Institute of Technology (2020).
