Chair – Md Pauzi Abdullah

Md Pauzi Abdullah (M’06, SM’13) is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor Bahru, where he currently holds the position of Director (Electrical Power Engineering). He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre of Electrical Energy Systems (CEES), UTM. He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, United Kingdom, a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Certified Energy Manager registered with the ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS). He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, USA (SMIEEE) and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM). Past Chair – Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin

Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin (M’02, SM’14) is an Associate Professor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Petronas. Fawnizu graduated from University of Minnesota, USA (B. Electrical Engineering, 1999), University of New South Wales, Australia (MEngSc, 2001) and Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan (D.Eng, 2008). He is an active volunteer with the IEEE Malaysia Section since 2009. He was the 2013 & 2014 Chair of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Malaysia Chapter, Chair of IEEE Malaysia Section (2019 & 2020) and currently Membership Development Coordinator for IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific) (2021-2022). For his volunteer work with IEEE, he was awarded the 2018 Region 10 (Asia Pacific) Outstanding Volunteer Award. Chair Elect / Vice Chair – Nordin Ramli

NORDIN RAMLI is an award recipient of Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) and Young Scientist Network (YSN) by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, in 2018 and 2014, respectively. He received a B.Eng degree in electrical engineering from Keio University, Japan in 1999. He received the M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees, both in electronic engineering from The University of Electro-Communications, Japan in 2005and 2008, respectively. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry including research and development work. Previously, he was at Telekom Malaysia Berhad as network engineer from 1999-2008, and lecturer at Multimedia University, Malaysia from 2008-2009. Currently, he is a Senior Staff Researcher at the Wireless Innovation Department of Corporate Technology, MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia. Hon Secretary – Nabilah Ibrahim

Nabilah Ibrahim is an associate professor of electrical and electronic engineering at University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). She received the B. Eng in Telecommunication Engineering and M. Eng in Computer Sciences both from Shibaura Institute of Technology Japan. She holds a doctorate degree in Electronic Engineering which she received from Tohoku University Japan. During her work in UTHM, she served as Head of Department of International Office from 2015-2017 and currently she served as Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Integrated Engineering (IJIE). Dr. Nabilah involves in Biomedical Electronic research area which include image processing, digital signal processing, and sensor and IOT application in medical devices. She is a member of IET and BEM.

Hon Treasurer – Nur Idora Abdul Razak

Nur Idora Abdul Razak is a Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam. She received her MSc. in Mobile and Personal Communications and PhD in Telecommunications from King’s College London, UK in 2008 and 2012 respectively. She was seconded to the University IT Office as a coordinator (2014-2018) and head of unit (2018-2020). She was also appointed as the chair of the university IT and Electronics Technical Committee (2018-2020). She is a member of Wireless Communication Technology (WiCoT) Research Group. Her research interest is on device-to-device communications, mobile edge computing and artificial intelligence (AI) in wireless communications.

Haidawati Mohamad Nasir

Dr Haidawati Mohamad Nasir is a senior lecturer at the Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Institute of Information Technology. She obtained her PhD degree from the department of Electrical and Electronic, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in 2012. Her research interest is in the signal and image processing with application to super-resolution image reconstruction, image enhancement and computer vision

Mohammed Hussein Saleh Mohammed Haram

Mohammed Hussein is a recent graduate of Multimedia University (MMU) with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s degree in Engineering Science as a graduate research assistant at the same university. Mohammed joined IEEE in 2016 and started his volunteering work as a Vice-Chair for IEEE MMU SB. In 2017, he was elected as a Chair of the SB. Considering his excellent experience with IEEE Students, he was appointed as Malaysia Section Student Representative 2019-2020. In 2020, he founded IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter at MMU. Currently, he is serving as an ExComm for IEEE Malaysia Section Consultants Network Affinity Group (CNAG). Mohammed has been IEEE Malaysia Best Members Recruiter over the past 4 years recruiting over 320 members. He has received multiple awards on a personal level as well as team level. His latest award associated with IEEE, was R10 SAC Outstanding Student Volunteer Award 2019.

Nur Ashida Salim

Nur Ashida Salim (M’2010, SM’2018) is an associate professor at the Centre for Electrical Power Engineering Studies, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2015, Master in Engineering (Power System & Electrical Energy) from Universiti Malaya in 2006 and Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (Hons.) from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2003. Dr Nur Ashida is the counsellor for IEEE UiTM Student Branch since 2019 and member of the Board of Engineers (BEM), Malaysia.

Aznilinda Zainuddin

Aznilinda Zainuddin is a Senior Lecturer in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Pasir Gudang Johor. She is a Companion Member of the Institutes of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT). She obtained her MSc. In Electrical Engineering from UiTM which she was involved in nano-electronics research work focusing on memristor. Her current research interest is on inventive problem solving and machine learning on space weather. Prior to joining the academician, she was attached with Agilent Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd and Western Digital (M) Sdn Bhd as a Senior Product Engineer.

Rosmiwati Mohd Mokhtar

Rosmiwati Mohd-Mokhtar received her B.Eng. degree with honours and the M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1999 and 2002, respectively. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Australia in 2008. She joined the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia in October 2008. Currently she is an Associate Professor and a Mechatronic Program Chairman at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, USM.
