Description | This project aims to develop an automated algorithm to detect and predict the incidence of syncope. The algorithm detection will be designed and validated based on these hemodynamic measurements. We hypothesize that the use of biosignals in combination with activity/posture monitoring will provide a unique opportunity for diagnosing syncope. In addition, the ability to predict syncope before its could protect patients from syncope-related falls and accidents. Candidates for the position must meet the following requirements: – (1) Have obtained a Master’s degree and shows evidence of adequate related research or work experience to the satisfaction of the Senate; OR (2) Have obtained a Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours or with a minimum CGPA of 3.67 and show evidence of related research aptitude to the satisfaction of the Senate; – Background of academic in Engineering, Medicine, Computer Science or Statistics; – Familiar/experienced with programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB); – Able to commit full time without any part-time job (subjected to clock-in clock-out); – Have proof of proficiency in the English language (a minimum score of 500 on the TOEFL or Band 5.0 in the IELTS or Band 3 in the MUET ); – Have experience in carrying out research and have published in reviewed journal at either the national or international level. Monthly stipend of max RM 3000 for the first year (for a full-time PhD) or max RM 2300 for the first year (for a full-time Masters), and allow for extension subjected to performance (as stated in UTAR Research Scholarship Scheme (RSS), i.e. 1 years + 1 years + 1 years policy for a PhD, and 1 years + 1 years for a Masters). |
