Description :
The successful candidates will develop gallium oxide thin films and optimise the optical transparency in UV range within them for the application of transparent conductive oxide. This project will work together with industries. This will include deposition of thin films by using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) in Monash University Malaysia. The thin films will be characterized using the characterization facilities, including X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy (with photoconductive-AFM), photoluminescence, UV-visible spectrometer, scanning electron microscopy. The structures will be tested for their photovoltaic and optoelectronic performance in device applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop skills in thin film fabrication, nanoscale characterization and measurement, device fabrication and testing. The project will start in Jan 2022. Tuition fee waiver and stipend are available to eligible candidates. Requirements: Students with Materials Science/ Physics/ Engineering background is favourable.
