Event Description

IEEE Sarawak Subsection is calling for participants to the Professional & Membership Development Program: DJI Drones for Precision Farming & Infrastructure Surveillance. The details of the program are as follows:
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Date: 28 Sept 2022 (Wednesday)
Venue: Big Data Lab, Campus Samarahan 2, UiTM Sarawak (Location in Google Map)
Free lunch and digital certificate will be given to all participants. Only 40 seats are available. Please register as soon as possible here
The guest speakers for the program are Mr. Alvin Chai and Mr. Aaron Tan, the directors of the DJI DronesKaki Sarawak.
About Alvin Chai
Alvin has been involved with the radio control and unmanned aircraft industry for over 15 years. Since graduating from the University of Canterbury in 1998, Alvin has worked in sales, operation, and business management roles at various companies in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, and Malaysia.

In 2009, Alvin joined Skookum Robotics Ltd while in Vancouver, Canada – a company that specializes in autopilot design and manufacturing for micro aerial vehicles. Using his unmanned vehicle technical background, Alvin has been the project lead for various aerial vehicle projects from RC helicopter gyro-stabilization control to custom military drones. In 2013, Alvin co-founded Skookum UAV and relocated to Malaysia to focus on the company’s unmanned aircraft business in the Asia Pacific region and Europe. In 2022, Alvin co-founded DJI DronesKaki Sarawak to focus on industrial and agricultural drone applications in Sarawak.

About Aaron Tan
From sharing ideas to connecting businesses with smart solutions, Aaron is always excited about all aspects of creating value for our customers. Aaron is the technical director at Intec Marketing Services, a company that specialised in survey and construction material testing instruments, weather monitoring devices and limestone products.
Aaron also co-founded a mapping company, UAS Mapping, that deliver next-generation mapping and survey services to the local industry. The company have recently also expanded into underground asset detection.
DJI DronesKaki Sarawak is the latest business Aaron co-founded in 2022 to focus on industrial and agricultural drone applications in Sarawak.
