|Description||The project investigates the possibility of designing small, flexible antennas on natural rubber substrates employing co-planar metamaterial structures. The use of flexible substrates will allow them to be mounted on surfaces of various shapes and geometries, thus enabling them to be worn by the user in IoT applications. The substrates will be mixed with different filler loadings to control the antenna response. The effects of these processing parameters will also be analyzed with respect to cost and manufacturability. This project will conclude with the fabrication of several microwave antennas, along with a set of optimized processing conditions and design procedures needed to fabricate such systems for a given specification.
Prospective candidate(s) should ideally hold an Honours Degree in Electronic/Communication Engineering, with specialization in RF/microwave engineering/wireless communications/
