|Description||In this study, small animal (laboratory mouse) will be drugged with Ketum for a period of time (courtesy of USM). MRI images of the small animal (healthy and drugged) on the vital organ, namely liver, will be obtained courtesy of Universiti Malaya MRI imaging lab. This study will investigate the effect of Ketum to the liver organ of the small animal. Among the challenges involved are to obtained small animal MRI images where the vital organ may not be visually seen and the segmentation measurements and analysis will also be a challenge due to smallness in nature. Detection of the vital organ especially the liver will be carried out. Segmentation quality will be measured to determine good segmentation algorithm. The liver size of the addicted animal will be compared with the liver size of the healthy animal. Correlation between different addiction period and its effect to liver organ will also be investigated.
1. Must have good programming skills especially in Matlab and C.
2. Must register as MPhil (by research) or PhD student in Razak School.
3. Stipend will be given depending on type of registration (MPhil or PhD). PhD candidate will be given higher stipend.
