Description Position: A postdoctoral position is available in the Center for Cognition and Mind Sciences (directed by Fan-Pei Gloria Yang, Ph.D.). Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in medicine, engineering, life science, psychology, or a related field.

Expertise and qualifications: To implement government and industry grants, the postdoctoral researcher has to assist in development and integration of biomedical engineering techniques for application of research on the cognitive deficits in elders and populations with stroke, brain injury or major depression disorders:
(1) Experience in Matlab, programming, machine learning, and signal processing is a plus
(2) Academic publication experience is highly valued
(3) Interested in medical image processing, language and cognition, and clinical neuroscience

The Center investigates higher-order cognitive functions with neuroimaging and provides neurorehabilitation for patients. We also collaborate with international enterprises to use smart devices to collect big data for neuroinformstic analysis. We specialize in advanced techniques in imaging and neurophysiological techniques such as fMRI, EEG, DTI and MEG. The populations of interest include healthy adults, patients with stroke, major depression disorder , traumatic brain injury , Alzheimer’s disease, and schizophrenia. Our lab has been collaborating with top research institutes including University of California, San Francisco, University of California, Berkley, Yale University, and major hospitals and medical centers in Taiwan. The successful candidate will be expected to process multimodal brain imaging data, conduct behavioral and MRI experiments at different locations, and assist in applying for funding, managing research projects, as well as writing manuscripts. Compensation is equivalent to National Science Council postdoctoral fellowship salary.
