Description Meliponine or “Kelulut” in Malay language is a tribe of stingless bee. There are hundreds of Meliponine Bee species and each one requires different floral and foraging needs for a good honey production. Traditionally beekeepers have been relying on a handful of key experts for advice. In the absence of key experts, this project would allow decisions to be made on “Kelulut” species via vision-based inputs. For this project, the applicant is expected to collect data, apply image processing and pattern recognition algorithms to the data. The allowance is RM1,800 (minimum) and can go up to RM2,300 with tutoring duties at the faculty. Minimum requirements to apply must be a Bachelor’s degree in related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0. Applicant should also register for a Masters degree by research at MMU.
