Short course on Advance Imaging Techniques for Biomedical Applications | 29 Aug 2013



Course Overview:

The course will include introduction to various medical image acquisition modalities. Participants will get an opportunity to have hands-on experience on various Imaging devices such as Multi spectral camera, 3D optical scanner, laser scanner, IR cameras, Near Infrared camera and Fundus camera. The course will also cover advanced image processing techniques for ophthalmology (diabetic retinal image analysis).


Targeted Audience:

A 1 Day workshop is targeted to an audience intending to gain deeper understanding, applicability and interpretation of advances medical imaging devices and techniques.  The course is intended for scientists, researchers, postgraduate students, medical doctors and industry researchers.


Program Schedule:

Day 1:  29 August, 2013
08:00 Registration
08:30 Image Modalities: Multi-spectral, MRI, CT, Fundus Camera
10:00 Tea Break
10:15 Image Modalities: 3D optical scanner, laser scanner, NIR
11:30 Hands-on: Imaging Modalities
1:00 Lunch Break



Retinal image analysis 1:- Enhancement: Retinex and Independent Component  Analysis, RETICA, Segmentation, Hands-on experience (Matlab codes).

The Afternoon tea break will be take place during this time
