Prof Dr. Tharek Abd Rahman, FASc

Prof. Dr. Tharek Abd Rahman is a Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He obtained his BSc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from University of Strathclyde UK in 1979, MSc in Communication Engineering from UMIST Manchester UK and PhD in Mobile Radio Communication Engineering from University of Bristol, UK in 1988. He is the Director of Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM. His research interests are radio propagation, antenna and RF design and indoors and outdoors wireless communication. He has also conducted various short courses related to mobile and satellite communication to the Telecommunication Industry and Government body since 1990. He has a teaching experience in the area of mobile radio, wireless communication system and satellite communication. He has published more than 120 papers related to wireless communication in national/international journal and conference

Dr Anders Wännström

Anders is subject matter expert in LTE/IoT/5G in Ericsson’s Mobile Broadband Practice in the region Asia Pacific and Oceania. He is intimately involved in the introduction and evolution of new technology for the most advanced mobile broadband networks in the region. He has lived and worked for Ericsson in Sweden, Hungary, Australia and most recently Malaysia, spending seventeen of the last eighteen years in this region.

Dr Wännström received his Ph. D. at Uppsala University in 1989 with research in atomic physics and before he joined Ericsson, he worked with research in Sweden, the Netherlands and Australia. He has in collaboration with other researchers published some thirty peer reviewed articles.

Ir. Rizaludin Kaspin

Rizaludin received his B.Eng in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK in 1992 and M.Sc in Network & Communication Engineering from UPM, Malaysia in 2003. He joined Telekom Malaysia Berhad in 1993 as a Network Planner for trunk and international network and later in 2003 he joined TMR&D as a network researcher. In 2006, he led the NGN/IMS lab and managed a team of researchers doing multiple NGN/IMS related research projects. He is currently the technical lead for E3 Infra SDN/NFV research group. He is a Professional Engineer registered with BEM & IEM, Malaysia and had also being appointed as industrial advisor for SEGi University , UTEM, UniMap and UPM. He had also contributed in preparing guidelines and standards for government agencies in the field of NGN/IMS and WSN. His research interest includes Teletraffic Engineering, Network Planning, Network Management, IP and Optical networking, P2P network, Mobile Location Based System, IOT & WSN, NGN & IMS and SDN & NFV. He had published various papers in conferences and journals and holds a few IPR in the respective research areas.
